Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD oil good for?

CBD oil has been studied for its potential role in easing symptoms of many common health issues, including anxiety, depression, acne and heart disease. For those with cancer, it may even provide a natural alternative for pain and symptom relief.

Does CBD really do anything?

Yes, there is evidence that CBD works for some conditions, but certainly not all the conditions it is being promoted for these days. There's no evidence, for example, that CBD cures cancer. There is moderate evidence that CBD can improve sleep disorders, fibromyalgia pain, muscle spasticity related to multiple sclerosis, and anxiety.

"The most benefit I have seen as a physician is in treating sleep disorders, anxiety, and pain," says Dr. Donald Levy, medical director at the Osher Clinical Center for Integrative Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and assistant clinical professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. "Many people report a definite response when it comes to anxiety." CBD also appears to have fewer side effects than other anxiety medications.

What are the side effects of CBD?

Though it's often well-tolerated, CBD can cause side effects, such as dry mouth, diarrhea, reduced appetite, drowsiness and fatigue. CBD can also interact with other medications you're taking, such as blood thinners. Another cause for concern is the unreliability of the purity and dosage of CBD in products.

Does CBD help sexually?

According to a 2009 article published in the journal Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, researchers have found ECS receptors in the sexual reproductive organs, such as the testicles. They’re also present in the brain.

What happens next is controversial. Some research studies have found that cannabinoids such as CBD and THC boost libido, while others have found they decrease it.

One article in the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and GeneticsTrusted Source reported that chronic cannabis use in males lowered sex drive. The more they use, the lower their sex drive is.

Other research suggests CBD products may improve libido by reducing anxiety. Some people have anxiety about sexual performance, which decreases their libido. Relieve anxiety, and the desire for sex may go up.

How can CBD improve sex? Anxiety and depression, in most cases, lead to one thing — issues with sex or reduced sexual self-esteem. Whether we suffer from anxiety and depression or maybe pain haunts us, all this irrevocably leads to problems in the bedroom.

And here CBD enters the game. Recent researches revealed such CBD oil benefits as:
- decreased inflammation;
- improved gut health;
- enhanced sleep;
- calmed nerves.

Beyond medical purposes, CBD can be used to overcome intimacy problems and give your sex a boost.

Cannabidiol can enhance sensation, as well as reduce pain during penetration and alleviate inhibition during sex. With its ability to help you relax and save you from anxiety or depression, CBD can easily become a substitute for the alcohol or other methods used to get the same result. Nevertheless, in the case of CBD balm, lube, gummies, or other product use, you will not suffer from fuzzy memories or hangovers the next morning.

Can CBD get me high?

While the most abundant of the 60 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant is THC, the chemical responsible for the euphoric feeling people most associate with getting high, the second-most abundant compound found in cannabis is cannabidiol, what is popularly known as "CBD."
CBD is non-intoxicating and 100% natural. It has no known side effects aside from the occasional feelings of drowsiness or being lightheaded, which are rare.
From a health standpoint, both THC and CBD have similar medical benefits to users, helping with pain relief, limiting the sensation of nausea, and aiding with depression and anxiety. However, the two compounds differ most when viewed from an experiential standpoint, as CBD does not create the euphoric feeling of being high.
CBD can also help dampen the symptoms of epilepsy, and has been used to treat seizures, inflammation, some forms of bowel disease, migraines, and more.

How do THC and CBD differ chemically?

From a chemical standpoint, CBD and THC (two of the most active cannabinoids in the cannabis plant) have an identical atomic weight. Both compounds consist of the same number of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The different sensations users experience are the result of how those two compounds are arranged.

How do I use CBD oil?

Generally speaking, there are only four ways to use CBD oil.
The first is orally, swallowing the oil drops directly or putting the CBD oil into a liquid you're drinking. The second is sublingually, which means that the CBD oil is held under the tongue prior to swallowing, sometimes for up to 90 seconds. Waiting helps the mucus membranes in the mouth to absorb the oil’s active ingredients.
The third way to use CBD oil is to apply it topically, by applying it directly to the skin. Once it is absorbed, the CBD finds its way into the bloodstream. Finally, CBD oil can be inhaled, often done using a vaporizer. Vaporizers heat up the CBD oil just enough so that it releases its active compounds, but avoids the harmful health effects that are associated with combustion (which occurs when you smoke a joint). The CBD makes its way to the bloodstream via the lungs.
Because CBD oil is such a versatile health product, the oil can be used in a variety of ways, limited only by your own creativity. For example, you can also cook with CBD by putting some drops into a pasta sauce or salad dressing.

What types of CBD products are available on the market?

My Supply Co. has a range of products available for purchase, however, more products are being developed every year, and the range of products will only increase over time. Some of the most popular ways to use CBD are by using CBD oil drops, CBD edibles, CBD topical creams and ointments, and CBD soft gels and capsules.

What is hemp, and is CBD derived from it?

Hemp is a term used to classify certain types of cannabis plants, ones grown for industrial use. It is known to contain less than 0.3% THC, and is non-intoxicating. Hemp is used in many ways, and is one of the oldest known crops, first cultivated thousands of years ago.
More than a medical marvel, hemp fibres can also be used to create a variety of products including rope, paper, domestic and industrial textiles, and even building materials.
CBD can be derived from hemp. However, CBD is not generally found in the flowering buds of the cannabis plant, where THC is found.
